Why Choose Us
We're experienced enough to know what good looks like. And practical enough to know that it doesn't need to be complicated.
Our Story
A&A was built from seeing both sides of the gap.
Before starting A&A, our founder, Shilo, worked across rapidly scaling businesses, large corporations, government, non-profits and humanitarian response.
Her career has included M&A, organizational transformation, centralizing major functions and building new ways of working. At the Canadian Red Cross, that included helping centralize HR nationally and supporting new approaches to large-scale emergency response beginning with the Fort McMurray wildfires.
That experience showed her what organizations can accomplish with access to experienced people, strong systems and specialized expertise. It also highlighted how difficult that expertise can be for smaller organizations to access.
A&A was created to bridge that gap.
We bring experience from complex environments and make it practical for growing organizations. Sometimes that means building something new. Sometimes it means simplifying what's already there. And sometimes it means telling a client they don't need the complicated solution at all.
Access to expertise shouldn't depend entirely on budget. That's why we donate our time and a portion of what we earn to NFPs across Canada.
Today, A&A is a women-led Canadian firm focused on one thing: building what fits.
