President & Senior Consultant
Shilo Burt
Shilo is an experienced HR consultant with nearly two decades of expertise in change management, organizational transformation, and executive-level fractional HR support. She holds a BSc in Neurosciences from McMaster University and certifications in project management, leadership development, organizational design, and Lean Six Sigma.
Shilo has worked across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including leading the centralization of Calgary’s 911 Operations Centre and redesigning its recruitment programs. As Director of HR at the Canadian Red Cross, she implemented HR Shared Services and led multiple tech transformation initiatives. She also has board experience with several charities, strengthening her ties to the nonprofit community.
Known for delivering impactful results, Shilo has served as interim or fractional CHRO, supported corporate restructuring, and optimized supply chains. She excels in improving employee and volunteer experiences, driving performance through employee satisfaction.
Outside work, Shilo enjoys baking, cooking, traveling, and volunteering in her community.
Vice President
Destree Godwin
Destree plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's behind-the-scenes activities. From managing A&A’s social media presence and website development to handling invoicing, financial management, and providing marketing support to consultants, Destree ensures the company’s operations are efficient and professional. A skilled communicator and marketer, she specializes in creating accessible and visually appealing HR materials, breaking down complex concepts into clear, jargon-free resources.
With over a decade of experience, Destree brings a diverse professional background that spans full-cycle recruiting, client relationship management, HR administration, and startup marketing. Beyond her professional work, she has a deep connection to the not-for-profit sector, having served for over seven years as chair of the Kids Help Phone Walk So Kids Can Talk committee. Her dedication earned her a National Volunteer of the Year Award, underscoring her passion for community engagement.
When not working, Destree loves spending time with her family, traveling the globe, baking, reading, or enjoying Italian cuisine.
Intermediate Consultant
Nick Williams
Nick is an Intermediate Consultant with A&A Business Consulting, bringing over seven years of experience in the not-for-profit sector. He has a proven track record in people management, operations, and human resources, with a strong focus on fostering inclusive workplaces, streamlining processes, and empowering teams to achieve results.
Based in Montreal, Quebec, Nick’s bilingual proficiency in French and English allows him to build meaningful connections across diverse teams and stakeholders. Known for his collaborative approach and ability to drive organizational change, Nick is committed to delivering impactful and sustainable solutions for clients.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys exploring new ideas, connecting with his community, and continually expanding his expertise in leadership and team development.
Intermediate Consultant
Karen Good Brissenden
Karen is an Intermediate HR Consultant with A&A Business Consulting, bringing over 20 years of experience in human resources, primarily within the manufacturing sector. She has supported industries ranging from food production and power generation to lumber, providing strategic HR solutions across Canada.
Karen’s approach is rooted in principle-based decision-making and aligning people strategies with organizational goals. She is passionate about supporting leaders at all levels and finds the greatest fulfillment in seeing employees surpass expectations through growth and development.
When she’s not at work, Karen enjoys exploring trails, chasing sunshine, and experimenting with pizza recipes in her kitchen—always on the hunt for the perfect dough and topping combinations.
Senior Consultant
Marianne Furdievich
Marianne has 20 years of experience in human resources nationally and internationally spanning across private, non-profit, and public sectors. Marianne has a passion for leadership and supporting organizations and employees to achieve their goals. Marianne is strategic focused and always looking at the big picture. She has been successful in coaching leadership and partnering in areas such as strategic planning, change management initiatives, team transformations and leadership development. Marianne holds 2 undergraduate degrees and multiple certificates including Prosci Change Management, Workplace Investigations, Workplace Restoration to name a few. When Marianne is not at work she enjoys travel, cooking and developing her photography skills.
